Afternoon For Old Girls
An informal afternoon was held for old girls of the Christchurch West High School, at the Caledonian Hall yesterday, as part of the school’s centennial celebrations. The convener (Mrs A. Pitcaithly) who is jubilee president of the Old Girls’ Association, welcomed about 600 women to the function. Specially-invited guests included Mrs A. E. Caddick, Mrs L. F. de Berry and the senior mistress of the school (Miss M. E. Osborn). The patron (Mrs C. A. Noble) was unable to attertd. Sprays of orchids and cyclamen were presented to Mrs Pitcaithly and the president of the Old Girls’ Association (Mrs B. F. Ferrand) by Mrs P. Hayles,. on behalf of the association.
