Hospital Board Loan

Authority to raise a loan of £1,650,000 for the continuation of Cashmere Hospital, building at Burwood Hospital and the rebuilding of the Christchurch Hospital will be sought by the North Canterbury Hospital Board. The amount would meet the board’s capital requirements for two years, said Mr L. Christie (chairman of the finance committee) at a meeting of the board yesterday.

Consolidated Metal.—Consolidated Metal Industries announce a halfyearly preference dividend of 3 per cent, payable on October 1. Preference shares are participating up to 6 per cent, per annum.
