Unprecedented Move By Mr Eisenhower (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) Rec. 9 p.m.) NEWPORT, (Rhode Island), Sept. 20. President Eisenhower yesterday rejected the latest letter from the Soviet Premier, Mr Khrushchev, calling it too false, abusive and threatening to be acceptable under international standards. The Summer White House at Newport, announcing this, said it believed such a rejection had no precedent in the history of United states and soviet Union relations. , - Eisenhower's action meant the United States would ignore j whrushchev s demand that she pull her forces out of Formosa and the surrounding area—and the accompanying threat that if they were not .withdrawn the Chinese Communists, with Russian support, would drive them out.
