Yachting Waimakariri Club’s Races At Week-end
Fog limited visibility in the Waimakariri Sailing and Power Boat Club's races during the week-end. There was a light easterly wind on both days, and Sailing conditions were very quiet. D. Banks and K. Tourell changed boats and finished first and second respectively in the open class race on Saturday. Sailing Tourell’s Frostply. Tara, Banks won at 12hr 14min 24sec from his own Finn, Finora, which was sailed by Tourell. B. O’Sullivan won the Sunday race with Euclid. Results:—
Saturday: Open Class Race.—Tara (D. Banks), 7min, 12hr 14min 24sec, 1; Finora (K. Tourell), scr, 12hr 15 min 50sec, 2; Virgo (G. Hobson), llmin, 12hr 17min 44sec, 3. Sunday Race.—Euclid (B. O’Sullivan), 14min, 12hr 7min 55sec, 1; Virgo (G. Hobson). 13min, 12hr Bmin 21««c. 2; Willie Wlnkie (M. Pullin), 14min, 12hr Bmin 32>ec, 3.
