House To Meet Today

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 21. The House of Representatives, which adjourned at 3.5 p.m. on Saturday, will meet at 2.30 p.m. on on Monday. The sitting will extend to midnight unless urgency is taken for the disposal of legislation on the Order Paper. Twenty-nine bills are at present on the Order Paper.

with two more to be reported back from committees —the Statutes Amendment Bill and the Maori Purposes Bill—which were introduced in the early hours of Saturday. It is expected that most Opposition objection will be directed at the Customs Acts Amendment Bill, the Transport Amendment Bill and the Family Benefits (Home Ownership) Bill, if these measures are included in Monday’s business, and an attack is inevitable against the Trade Practices Bill.
