PRINCESS SEES MOCK BATTLE

Plans Changed At Request FREDERICTON (New Brunswick) August 9. Princess Margaret today watched a command performance of a mock battle at Camp Gagetown near Fredericton after opening a new bridge that will bear her name. The Princess made the request to watch the battle, entailing a last-minute change of plans as she was only to tour the camp. Later, after inspecting a guard of honour at Fredericton Airport, she will board a plane for Yarmouth to tour Nova Scotia, the last province on her itinerary for her month’s tour of Canada. If the weather is bad she may travel 100 miles south to Saint John, New Brunswick and cross the Bay of Fundy by ship. The Princess spent yesterday in seclusion with only her personal staff in attendance. It was reported that she was shown pictures of a number of country homes in this area and chose one owned by Mr Stanley Cassidy, named ‘Journey’s End,” to spend a quiet day. Mr Cassidy js a local businessman and electrical contractor The White wooden house seven miles north of Fredericton is on an evergreen bluff about half a mile off the main highway and down a winding country road. It cannot be seen from the highway because of trees. A glassed-in sunporch offered an excellent view of the St. John river. There were also swimming and fishing facilities near the home.
