U.S. CITIZENS IN JORDAN

Advice Of State Department (N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) (Rec. 11 p.m.) AMMAN, August 10. The United States is giving Jordan 380,000 dollars, reportedly to let Jordan free other funds for budgetary needs. A United States Embassy spokesman said that United States citizens had been advised by the State Department that “ordinary prudence would seem to urge the departures of their dependants.” A spokesman said the advice was not an evacuation order. A British Embassy spokesman said no similar British measures had been taken. The Jordan Government announced that normal passenger and commercial traffic had resumed across the Syrian border.
