Men Look For Work

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 10.

In recent weeks between 15 and 20 unemployed men have been queuing each day at the Labour Department in Wellington* seeking work. Some have been going to the department for weeks and are still without jobs, they said.

Two youths said they had tried for work at Auckland, Rotorua, and Wairakei without success. They could not find anyone to use their services in Christchurch. One said he had been out of a job for six weeks —the other for three \yeeks. One young man said Jhat he had been offered a number of jobs in the Hutt Valley during the time he had been at the department. Either they were too far out for him or they did not pay enough.
