SALVATION ARMY IN SYDENHAM

Seventy-fifth Anniversary The'Sydenham corps of the Salvation Army celebrated its seventy-fifth anniversary at the week-end. The corps, the seventh opened in New Zealand, was formed as an outpost of the Christchurch Citadel Corps, on August 19. 1883. The celebrations at the weekend included a soldiers’ and former soldiers’ tea on Saturday in the Battersea Street Citadel. The Sydenham and Christchurch Citadel Corps presented a united music festival in the evening. Meetings were held at the Citadel yesterday. A praise and thanksgiving meeting will conclude the celebrations this evening.
