Fencing INTER-SCHOOLS CONTEST

Linwood Teams Win Four Matches Thirty fencers from three schools competed in the second intersecondary schools tournament which was held at Christchurch Boys’ High School on Saturday. The Linwood High School teams were too good for the Boys’ High School and Christchurch Girls’ High School teams, losing only one of their five matches, and winning most of the others by wide margins. In the senior match Linwood beat .Boys’ High School by 14 bouts to 2. and the junior team won its match by the same margin. The junior team also beat Girls’ High School by 12 bouts to 4. and the Linwood, girls’ team by 12 bouts to 5. Boys* High School beat Girls’ High School by 9 bouts to 7 and the Linwood girls’ team was also beaten 9-7. The Linwood girls’ team beat Girls’ High School 9-7.
