Steeples At Hastings (New Zealand Press Association) HASTINGS. August 10. The Hawke's Bay and Dannevirke Hunt combined meeting concluded on the Hastings racecourse on Saturday. There was a good attendance and > the track was in first-qlass order. The on-course!, double was won by Golden Glow and Linden, returning a dividend of £ll7 8s 6d for £l. The Memorial Steeplechase was a chapter of incidents, with the field of 11 being gradually eliminated by falls, until five finished the journey. The off-course double was won by The Bandit and Tyrant, and returned a dividend of £lO 4s for £l. The totalisator handled £48.870 10s, compared with £39,644 10s for the same day. last year.
