w. J. Hillis Suspended
■ W. J. Hillis, rider of the winner. Capet, in the Lincoln Steeples at Riccarton on Saturday, was suspended to October 4 by the judicial committee of -the Canterbury Jockey Club. Hillis was charged with interfering with French Echo half-way between the brush at the top of the straight and the last fence. The committee heard evidence from Hillis. G Jenkins, the rider of French Echo, the patrol stewards and the stipendiary steward. Hillis was found guilty of careless riding. He has appealed against the decision, beach Handicap.
