REPLACEMENT FOR ZOO TIGER

Message From Duke Of Windsor

(New Zealand Press Association} WELLINGTON, August 8.

The Wellington Zoo may receive another tiger from the Duke of Windsor to replace the tigress, Kitty, which died recently after a life in captivity since 1919. Kitty was one of two tigers presented to Jthe city by the Dulfce of Windsor. when he was Prince of Wales. The Duke was advised of Kitty’s death by the zoo curator (Mr C. J. Cutler), who wrote to him at his Cannes address.

In reply the Duke has cabled: “Regret Kitty’s death. Congratulats you on your care of her. Am communicating Vincennes Zoo regarding possible presentation. Edward Windsor.” The Vincennes Zoo is one of the four in Paris.
