Transfer Of L A. King

The former Empire Games distance runner, L. A. King, who moved to Christchurch earlier this year, will return to Auckland. Unfortunately, King was not seen at his best in Canterbury and although he was expected to strengthen the standard of crosscountry running in the province, his progress in training was hindered by illness. He still had ample time before the national titles to have improved sufficiently to have been an acquisition to the Canterbury team. King’s greatest influence promised to be on the coaching and administrative side. He had already bec6me a member of the executive of the Canterbury Cross-Country Running Management Committee, where he was able to bring a fresh approach to many problems.
