HIGHER TAXI FARES
Many Applications Lodged
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 4.
Applications from taxi proprietors and their associations in cities and districts from both islands for authority to increase fares are before the Commissioner of Transport (Mr H B. Smith). Each was being considered on its merits and early decisions were expected, it was stated today. A number of applications concerning goods carriage rates are also before the Comrfiissioner.
