Room Rents
Sir, —No member of the community has been subjected to greater indignities and impositions than the person forced to submit to the exorbitant charges imposed by avaricious owners, who, on the plea of effecting minor alterations, for increasing the Capacity, and charging increased rent for small rooms, are trying to get present tenants out. A thorough check on this by the responsible authority is overdue, and prompt attention would give immense satisfaction to the victims. —Yours, etc., S.T.B. July 2, 1958.
