Lyttelton Fire Protection

Mr N. E. Kirk, M.P.. for Lyttelton, is discussing with the Minister of Interna] Affairs (Mr Anderton) the amalgamation of Lyttelton fire services with the Christchurch united urban fire district.

The secretary-manager of the Lyttelton Harbour Board (Mr A. L. Burk) said yesterday that Mr Kirk’s letter to him stated that the question was being discussed with a view to “effecting a solution to the problem which has arisen.”
