It. JOHN’S DAY
Service Next Sunday
Although St. John’s Day services in other centres will be held tomorrow, the service in Christchurch will not be held until June 29. The service which will be held in the Durham Street Methodist Church will be conducted by the Rev. A. O. Harris, and the lessons will be read by the chairman of the Canterbury and West Coast Centre of the St. John Ambulance Association (Mr J. H. Rhodes) and the District Commissioner of the St. John Ambulance Brigade (Dr. W. Gordon Rich).
Dr. Rich will take the salute during a march past of members at the Victoria street bridge. Today is Dominion cadet day, and cadets of the St. John Ambulance Brigade will entertain residents from homes for the aged. The cadets have organised transport for the aged and arranged a light variety programme.
