GOON SHOW MAY END
M illigan-8.8.C. Dispute LONDON, April 29. The highly-esteemed Goon Show may not be back on the air in Britain later this year, according to the “Daily Express.” After seven years of success, a row between the 8.8. C. and Spike Milligan, who writes the show, has put the programme in danger of being shelved. Mr Milligan, who is at present at sea, bound for Australia, knows nothing about a letter which the 8.8. C. has sent to his London office refusing to agree to new conditions he has demanded for the next Goon Show series. Mr Milligan left Britain in the middle of a heated campaign he has been waging against the 8.8. C.
From his office, after he had sailed, went a letter to the Corporation which asked for more freedom in the production of the show and said that Mr Milligan might not be back in Britain in time to write it.
The "Daily Express” said the 8.8. C. had turned down offers of alternative writers.
