Bridie, which won the race last pear, and Peter Baffles, a winner at his last two starts, are interesting candidates in the Hawke’s Bay Cup, the first leg of the off-course double on the opening day of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey, Club’s autumn meeting, at Hastings tomorrow. Melanion is * a firm favourite for the second leg, the Havelock Flying Handicap. The weather has been settled for most of the week, and the track will be In good order. The forecast is for a fine day.
