ONE MORE WIN NEEDED

Tulloch Near Record (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, April 10. A'ulloch will join Phar Lap and Ajax as a joint holder of the record for the greatest number of wins in an Australian season if he wins the Queen Elizabeth Stakes a Randwick on Saturday. It would be Tulloch’s fourteenth win this season—the same as Phar Lap accomplished as a four-year-old and Ajax as a three-year-old. Tulloch’s trainer, T. J. Smith, said today that he was very confident Tulloch would equal the record. The five acceptors include the New Zealand-bred Baron Boissier and the Victorian mare, Pushover. The race could be Tulloch’s easiest task of the season. Witt 14 wins he will be one short of the record for both Australia and New Zealand held by Mainbrace. Syntax, as a three-year-old, won 14 races in New Zealand. Desert Gold won 14, some in New Zealand and others in Australia. Smi‘h said today that Tulloch was not harmed by his race in the All-Aged Stakes yesterday. “In fact, he is better today than he was after the St. Leger Stakes last Saturday.” Tulloch had light exercise at Randwick this morning.
