Kingsdown Robber Not Yet Found
(New Zealand Press Associatim) TIMARU, April B. The man who robbed tha Canterbury Frozen Meat Companys' Timaru manager (Mr W. 8. Minehan) of £#l77 on the State highway at Kingsdown last Wednesday morning is still at large, and no trace has been found of the missing money in spite of a widespread search by the police during the week-end. Mr Minehan was taking the money to pay the men at the company's freezing works at Pareora, eight-and a half miles south of Timaru. when he was held up at gunpoint and robbed of two canvas bags containing the payroll. The robber also took Mr Minehan's revolver, and the ignition key of his car in which he was travelling alone at the time. The concentrated search for the money bags, and the shotgun used in the hold-up was continued yesterday and today in the area where the stolen car used by the robber was found abandoned two hours after the robbery.
