Queensland Flood
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 11 p.m.) BRISBANE, April 4. Record floods are roaring through the townships of Home Hill and Ayr in northern Queensland as the Burdekin river, swollen by rains which fell in the wake of this week's cyclone, has topped previous flood peaks. A man was drowned at Home Hill when a culvert collapsed and he was carried away. He was Clarence Jackson, aged 40, of Home Hill. Floodwaters are racing six feet deep through the streets of both towns, which face each other across the river.
