SCOUT PLANS FOR EASTER
Many Boys In Camp Many Boy . Scouts from the Christchurch area will be spending the Easter holiday under canvas at scout camps around Canterbury this year. The major camp will be for Sea Scouts, in Lyttelton Harbour, but several troops have organised their own trips. Sixteen boys from the St. Aidan’s troop will camp at Port Levy, while 20 from Fendalton will be under canvas near the Harewood golf course. The Bryndwr troop has applied for a campers’ warrant for 50 boys to stay at Gillett’s farm, and 20 boys from the St Nicholas troop will be camping in Kaituna Valley, about two miles past the church. Possibly the most ambitious plans, apart from the Sea Scout regatta, are those of 12 scouts from Aranui who are splitting up into two parties, one to head south towards Selwyn and the other going north, on bicycle trips. They hope to cover about 60 miles during the week-end. Small parties of boys in pairs will be hiking |n the hills around Lyttelton Harbour, and two will be tramqjng in the Oxford-Shef-field area. These are part of the first class badge requirements, where a boy must hike 20 miles, spending one night under canvas.
