£20,000 FIRE IN BAKERY

Plant Destroyed At Otahuhu

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 23. Fire swept through the bakery of Tucker Brothers Ltd., Otahuhu. early yesterday morning and within half an hour had transformed the modern building equipment and materials to a twisted mass. The blaze, which is thought to have started in the loft where 14 tons of flour was stored caused damage estimated at £20.000. The bakery was established in 1928. At the time of the fire it was producing 20.000 loaves weekly. Arrangements have been made for other bakers to supply the customers.
