SERVICES TO SCOUT MOVEMENT

Silver Acorn Awarded To Mr F. W. Horner

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 20.

The award of the Silver Acorn to Mr F. W. Horner, of Hawera, for specially distinguished services to the Boy Scout movement, has been approved by the Gov-ernor-General (Lord Cobham) as Dominion Chief Scout. This was announced by the Dominion headquarters of the Boy Scouts’ Association today. Mr Horner served on the executive committee of the Dominion council for 20 years, and has now accepted the post of International Commissioner for New Zealand. He is to represent New Zealand soon at the Far East regional scout conference in the Philippines.
