Troublesome Immigrants

Sir, —In reply to “AU lor Hungarians,” I would say that Mr Woodward and his “Puritan friends” are decent, self-respect-ing New Zealanders. It is a lot of rubbish to talk of these people wanting to bring the Hungarians in line with a whip. I think they have been treated far too leniently, and something drastic should have been done about them long before. If they can’t or don’t want to behave decently in the country which gave them refuge, then by all means send them back to where they came from. They are not wanted here. I have heard many people referring to these trouble-seekers, and without exception they all say the same thing—that they should be deported. I heartily agree.—Yours, etc., ALL FOR NEW ZEALAND. March 8, 1958.
