Miss G. Wicks Sets Record < (From Our Own Reporter J -V/? GREYMOUTH, March #. Canterbury athletes dominated the West Coast Amateur Ath-. letic Centre's championship meeting at Greymouth on Saturday. The weather was line, but a following wind prevented the recognition of what would have been record performances. One record, however, was set, this being by Miss G. Wicks, of Christchurch, in the women's discus throw. Her distance was 104 ft 31in, this being the first time that 100 ft had been reached on the West Coast. ’ The outstanding perfornier was Miss A. Macdonald, of Christchurch. She Won the 100 yards in 11.2 sec and the 75 yards in B.6sec, both of which times would have been records but for the following wind. Miss Macdonald was also successful in the long jump and the 80 metres hurdles.
