MATERIALS USED

Brick has been the material most favoured by builders for use in this year’s Parade of Homes. Seven of the 15 houses in the parade are built of brick. Weatherboard, which has been used for four houses comes next. Three houses have been built in Summerhill stone. One builder has used asbestos cement sidings for the exterior sheathing. Corrugated asbestos cement has been used for the roof. Iron has retained its place as the most popular roofing material. It has been used on seven houses. Tiles have been used on six houses and the remaining one has a bitumen roof.
