HOSPITAL LADY VISITORS
Extra Room For Work
The use of an extra room had been granted to the Hospital Lady Visitors’ Association by the North Canterbury Hospital Board, it was reported at the monthly meeting of the association. Mrs F. E. Wait presided. The library was being kept up-to-date, members were told. It was resolved to send any of the older books to the hospital at Templeton. Miss Sheelagh Thompson, who recently left for a visit overseas, will be thanked for her work for the library. Books and magazines were received from the following:—Mrs Wood, Mrs Chambers, Mrs Rattray, Miss Cocks, Mrs CracroftWilson, Miss T. Muir, Mrs Davison, Mrs Weir, Mrs Polson, Miss McPhail, Mrs Fenwick, Mr Nicholls, Junior Chamber of Commerce, Mrs Gow, Mrs Allan Hobbs, Mrs Scott, Mrs Spencer, Mrs Cowie, Mrs Malcolm, Mr Gimson, Mrs Dawson, and many anonymous donors. The Adeline Turner Rest Cottage had been occupied throughout the summer, and the cottage and garden were in good order, it was reported. The proceeds from the annual sale of work amounted to £64 10s 4d.
