Sub-Centre At Fendalton

Garments sent to headquarters during the year numbered 221, it was said in the report presented to the annual meeting of the Fendalton subcentre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society. Garments had also been knitted for the aged. Members had assisted with the

Red Cross street day appeal in the Fendalton area and had helped with the market and the stalls, said the report. Members had also assisted with other street collections. The sub-centre supplied a driver and helper for the delivery of meals to the aged, twice a month and vegetables were pre-, pared by members during May.

Several of the members had provided transport for those at Rannerdale Home and the subcentre had arranged cars to take them to Belfast. Gifts were made by the subcentre to the Good Neighbour Service and the fund for Christmas parcels for Rannerdale Home and Burwood Hospital.
