STOCK EXCHANGE MEETING

New Listing Fee , Adopted

’A nominal listing fee will be charged to Australian companies whose shares are quoted on the New Zealand stock exchanges. This was decided at the annual conference of the Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand, which concluded in Christchurch yesterday. In a statement, the association said that the purpose of the charge would be to bring New Zealand listing practice into line with that at present in operation overseas. Full particulars of the companies which will be affected by this fee will be published in the New Zealand Stock Exchange’s “Official Record.” The conference decided to continue, in the coming year, its campaign to bring the details of the workings of the stock exchanges in New Zealand before the general public, says the report. Mr J. H. Griffiths (Christchurch) was re-elected president of the association.

Other officers elected were: vice-president, Mr R. H. Reeves (Dunedin); executive, Messrs J. S. Colegrove (Auckland), E. C. W. Nathan (Wellington) and Eric Millton (Christchurch).
