LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
1. Letters sent to the Editor for printing must be written in ink on one side of the paper only, and writers must send in their names and addresses in full, whether they wish these to be printed or not. 2. Writers must say clearly whether or not their letters are being or have been sent to other papers. 3. The Editor cannot return or keep any letter which for any reason is unsuitable for printing, nor can he acknowledge unsuitable letters, although this will be do.ne where it seems to be needful, or enter into any correspondence. 4. Letters must not be of more than 150 words in length. Charm En Wit Lover.—Too long; see rules above. Permanent Artist.—Your claim to speak for i "the taxpayer” is surely a litue excessive. T. E. Shaw.—Have you any evidence that the correspondent mentioned "has no desire to preach pacifism in Russia?" D.—On the contrary, requests have been made to the public, through the Broadcasting Service, to keep away from flooded areas. Madras.—The Meteorological Service is concerned only with forecasting the weather. Floods are the result of abnormal weather; they are not "weather.” John Burbridge.—We have neither the time nor the inclination to check your sources; and we are not prepared to print them unchecked. Communist propaganda withstanding, there is overwhelming weight of evidence that North Korea was the aggressor.
