EPILEPTICS TO BE HELPED

Association Formed -'Persons with epilepsy will be able to get together and discuss their problems at meetings of the Canterbury branch of the British Epileptic Association, which was formed last welek. The group will consider such matters as employment, the setting up of a school for epileptic children, and better homes for those who are unable to earn their living, so that they will not have to be put in mental hospitals as at present. Formed with 21 members, the branch hopes to progress like the one in Auckland, which has more than 300 members after less than a year and a half in operation. The foundation members have been trying to get in touch with all those suffering from epilepsy, by various means. They have had a number of circulars printed, which have been distributed by Christchurch chemists.

The chief aim of the branch will be to organise recreation and meetings, where useful aid and instruction will be given. Meetings will probably be held fortnightly.
