ANTI-MISSILE WEAPONS
“Excellent” U.S. Progress WASHINGTON, Jan. 22. “Excellent progress” toward the development of two weapons to destroy enemy missiles was reported tonight by Major-General Robert Wood, the Army’s deputychief for research and development. He said that components for the anti-missiles weapon Zeus,, designed to intercept long range ballistic missiles, were “now in being.” Another anti-missle weapon called Plato was being developed for use “in the field, in defence ©f our field armies.” General Wood told a meeting of the Army’s Medical Service Corps at Fort Myer, Virginia, that the Zeus “is our answer to the
