WRECKAGE SIGHTED BY TANKER

Thought To Be Derelict . Yacht (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 22. What might have been the water-logged yacht Astral was sighted off Turakirae Head by the coastal tanker, Tanea, coming from Napier to Wellington. On arrival here the master of the Tanea, Captain A. H. Dunnings, reported to the Marine Department that at 5.5 a.m. on Monday he sighted the wreckage of a small craft drifting six miles off Turakirae Head. The wreckage could be dangerous to navigation, he said. A navigation warning to shipmasters was issued by the Marine Department and broadcast by Wellington Radio. The Astral got into distress ir Cook Strait on January 12. Hei crew, the Lysaght family, of Wellington, were -rescued by the Rhodesia Star which took the Astral in tow. The Astral later capsized and had to be cut adrift.
