RANGERS’ CAMP IN SOUNDS

1 OOth Anniversary Celebrations

The Rangers’ camp now being held at Curious Cove, Queen Charlotte Sound, will end the celebrations of the Girl Guide movement in New Zealand to mark the hundredth anniversary of the birth of the founder, Lord BadenPowell. Miss Mona Burgin, ranger advisor for New Zealand, is in charge of the camp, which more than 100 Rangers are now attending from all parts of New Zealand. A staff member of the national headquarters of Girl Scouts in America (Miss Carole McConnell) is attending the camp as part of her two months’ official visit to New Zealand. Other visitors to the camp are Miss Ruth Herrick, Chief Commissioner for New Zealand, and Miss M. Iles, the Dominion secretary, who recently took part in the world conference of girl guides and girl scouts in Brazil. The camp will break on January 13.
