Removing Candle Wax Stain

If wax from a lighted white candle drips on to a tablecloth or a frock, scrape it off gently with a blunt knife. Then place the greasy stain between two pieces of white blotting paper and press the top sheet with a warm iron. The grease will then be absorbed into the blotting paper. Move the paper as it becomes stained by the wax.

Sponge the stain wth a drycleanng fluid and all trace of the grease will disappear. Use the same technique for drips of coloured candle wax, removing the dye stain with methylated spirits undiluted or mixed with a few drops of ammonia.
