ADVERTISING SPENDING

(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 10 More than £21,400,000 has been spent on press advertising in the third quarter of this year, accord ing to a statistical review of prest advertising. _ , The total is 15 per cent, lower than the previous quarter, and .77 per cent, less than the corresponding quarter in 1956. The aggregate expenditure -on press advertising in the first nine months of this year reached more than £78,600,000, about £2 million more than was spent in-the comparable period of 1956. The increase has been made although more than £l2| million more was found for television advertising in the same period.
