BRITISH FRIGATE

Visit To Lyttelton Next Month Two Sea Cadet officers and 20 Sea Cadets from Christchurch will do three days’ sea training aboard a Royal Navy frigate, H.M.S. Cardigan Bay, next month. The frigate is due at Lyttelton on January 9 and will leave the next day with the Sea Cadets. During the sea training the frigate will call at Akaroa. The frigate is commanded by the senior officer of the Third Frigate Squadron, Far East Station. Captain G. O. Roberts. It is visiting New Zealand to assist with the sea training of naval reservists. The ship| is an anti-aircraft frigate of the Bay class and carries a complement of 15 officers and 125 men. She will return to Christchurch on January 13 to disembark the Sea Cadets before sailing for Auckland.
