(K.2, >r«U 4*MeMtlow--CopvngM> LONDON, December 2 The Queen tonight ended a cen - tury-old custom begun by Queen Victoria by halting the payment of the “Queen's Bounty” to the parent* of triplet* and quadruplets The parents received £1 1 head for the newborn, and with the change in value it had become not so much a payment of money but an honour. The proud parents will still be rewarded With a congratulatory telegram from the Queen.
