TRIBAL CLASHES IN KENYA

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) NAIROBI, December 2.

Six more persons have died in tribal clashes on Kenya’s northern frontier, bringing the deathroll in recent weeks to 123. The latest victims are members of the Dongiro tribe, who normally live in Ethiopia.

The police say that the raiders were Keroma and Merille tribesmen from Ethiopia, and that in two raids they killed six Dongiro and stole 105 cattle.

Both Kenya and Ethiopia have made strong diplomatic protests against the recent clashes, and are claiming compensation.
