SWIMMING Big Entries In First Inter-Club Carnival

In a most exciting finish, the Spreydon A swimming team won the Bryce Cup awarded for a 5 x 100 yards relay when the first interclub swimming carnival of the season was held at the St. Albans bath on Saturday. The entries for events were probably the largest ever received for a carnival. The New Zealand junior sprint champion, Graham Dann, showed that he is in top form by clocking 59.55ec for the 100 yards. Dann appears certain to retain his title at the next national meeting to be held at Dunedin on February 12-15. Abbreviations used in the following results are:—Rice. (Riccarton), Spr.
