Committee Grants Applications
The No. 14 Military Training Postponement Committee considered 11 applications for postponement of service yesterday. Applications granted were:— Michael Smith, shepherd, indefinite postponement; Gerald Francis Walker, farm-hand. 12 months’ postponement; Colin Norton Knowles, tiler, postponement to February 16, 1958; Maurice Desmond Mather, refrigeration apprentice, 12 months’ postponement Andrew Morris Holland, joiner, postponement to February 16. 1958; Brian Douglas Kirkness, factory worker, balance of training cancelled; John Roland McConnell, student, postponement to January, 1959; David John Crowe, locomotive trainee, indefinite postponement; Robert Lawrence Morison, farm manager. 12 months’ postponement: Wallace Samuel Bennie, stock agent, 12 months’ postponement.
An application from Neil Frederick Barltrop, student, for postponement of service was dismissed.
