BUILDINGS AT SCOTT BASE
Construction Pleases Designer

Buildings housing New Zealanders at Scott Base were the envy of the Americans, their designer. Mr W. F. Ponder, of the Ministry of Works, found on a recent fiveday visit to the Antarctic. The buildings had withstood one Antarctic winter well, and would see another out. The ventilation and insulation of the buildings had been particularly successful, and had greatly impressed the Americans, including Admiral Dufek. “who seemed a little envious of our set-up.’’ he said today.
