[From the London Correspondent of "The Press”] LONDON, November 9. Eros, the figure on the Shaftesbury fountain in Piccadilly Circus, has been without rival as London’s only aluminium statue since it was placed there 60 years ago. Now Mr Charles Wheeler, President of the Royal Academy, is working on two aluminium figures—each 16 feet high—representing Speed and Power. They are for a new office block on the site of the Strand’s old Gaiety Theatre, the demolition of which is almost completed. f
