Entries were small in this section, and the judge (Mr W. L. Gobbe) considered the standard to be lower than usual. This, he said, could largely be attributed to the time of the year and the heavy breeding season. Mr Gobbe drew particular attention to the White Leghorn male
bird entered by Mr Tippins, and which was judged the best utility fowl in the section. In all respects, the bird was a fine representative of its breed, he said.
