POULTRY
A good standard was noted by judges in almost all sections at the poultry show. Entries were slightly smaller than last year, although there was a strong representation of the bantam classes. The champion utility bird of the show was a male Australorp entered by Mr A. N. McKie, and described by the judge as one of the finest birds of its type he bad seen.
A special award for the best utility light breed fowl was won by a male White Leghorn exhibitted by Mr E. W. Tippins, and Mr McKie's Australorp won the best utility heavy breed award. Mrs H. N. May was the only exhibitor in the duck section, and a drake exhibited by her won the special award.
The best standard poultry award went to a game fowl exhibited by Mr R. H. Johnstone, and the best bantam at the show was entered by Messrs Mitchell and Gurr.
