With the exception of the leading pigs in the breeding sow class, this section was rather disappointing, said the judge (Mr G. E. Heppcnstall, of Otorohanga). The champion Large White boar, entered by Canterbury Agricultural College, was a particularly well-prepared animal, said Mr Heppcnstall. Some exhibitors had not seemed to appreciate that their pigs should be groomed.
