Urban Fire Area Proposals
To discuss the formation of a united urban fire district and authority for Christchurch, a meeting of local body representatives will be held in Riccarton next Tuesday. The chairman of the New Zealand Fire Services Council (Mi S. S. Dean). a member of the; council (Mr T. M. Charters) and; the chief fire service officer <Mri T. A. Varley) will attend the meeting. The Christchurch Fire Board appointed its chairman (Mr W. R. Campbell), chief fire officer (Mr L. R Osmond) and the secretary <Mr S. F. Marshall) as its delegates to the meeting.
